Professional Artist ,fly fisherman, donates painting for auction.

Mpls ,MN: Tom Labandz, an enthusiastic fly fisherman ,who is very concerned with the environment, is more than happy to donate the painting "Kinnikinnick" (see attachment) an oil painting, 29w x 39h,, to be auctioned at March 20th 2010, Trout Unlimited Banquet at the Double Tree Hotel Rochester , MN to support Trout Unlimited, of Hiawatha Chapter Rochester MN. He is a conservationist preservationist who realize the necessity to promote good use of streams and adjacent land for fly fishing. Fly fishing is a sport directly involve with nature which has infinite beauty. As a artist he finds nature is his inspiration , which motivates him to paint nature's beauty.

Tom Labandz, professional painter who does original western landscape art. He has also paints commission art. .For nearly two decades, his work has been a fixture in the West. His paintings are infused with a passion for conservation and preservation. His work, inspired by the Hudson River School, using the same material and techniques, has been displayed in leading galleries in Aspen and Denver, Colorado; as well as Jackson and Cody, Wyoming. Two of his oils are currently in the Governor's reception area in the Colorado Capital building.

With sophisticated use of light, color and texture his compositions transport you into the wilderness. You feel the cool crystal waters of his mountain streams; the crisp pine-needle air and in the distance, you hear the solitary call of the hawk. The affect is serenity -- pure and simple as nature itself. His work achieves a balance of opposites: Thunderous rapids run through the stillness of a pine forest; a majestic mountain looks down upon a fishing fly landing softly upon the water. Light competes with shadow, and a solitary man stands surrounded by nature.

Thomas is a graduate from the University of Minnesota, where he earned a degree in Art History and studied Fine Arts. He also studied Illustration at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Thomas is a former United States Ski Association coach and was a ski instructor in Aspen Colorado.
